At the center of the court, the tennis net should be 3 ft (0.914 m) high, held down by a white strap. Additionally, a white band runs along the top of the metal cable or cord that supports the net.
A cord or a metal cable suspends the net with the aid of two posts called net posts. These net posts are at a height of 3.5 ft (1.07 m). And the net should fill the space between the posts.
For Singles, the net posts are 3 ft (0.914m) outside the singles sideline on each side, like the image shown above. That's a singles net.
For Doubles, the net exceeds the doubles sidelines such that the net posts
are 3 ft (0.914m) outside on each side.
It is important to note that singles can use the doubles net but the doubles can't play with a single net. For singles to play using doubles net, then two sticks of 3.5 ft (1.07 m, similar to the net posts' height) should be used to lift the net positioned at 3 ft (0.914 m) outside the singles court on each side.
